Real men. Real struggles. Real support.
Ironbark Recovery & Support was founded to create a safe place for men to seek help, find information and access support services in our local region.
We understand that it can be hard to speak up. Our mission is to break the silence, reduce stigma and ensure no man has to face his darkest moments alone.
For many years, I lived through the devastating reality of domestic and family violence. Like many men, I carried the pain in silence. Behind closed doors I experienced fear, isolation, loss of confidence, deteriorating mental health, and periods where I questioned whether life was worth living. I know what it feels like to believe there is no way forward, and I know how difficult it can be for men to ask for help.
That journey changed the direction of my life.
Recovery did not happen overnight. It came through support, accountability, education, connection, and the belief that life could be different. Along the way I realised that too many men were facing the same battles alone. Many were struggling with addiction, relationship breakdown, domestic violence, suicidal thoughts, trauma, and overwhelming mental health challenges, yet had nowhere they felt truly understood.
Today, I have had the privilege of supporting hundreds of men through some of the darkest periods of their lives. I have walked alongside men experiencing addiction, domestic and family violence, suicidal crisis, homelessness, grief, mental illness, and significant life transitions. Every conversation has reinforced one simple truth: every person deserves to be heard without judgement and supported with dignity.
Ironbark combines lived experience with professional knowledge to provide practical, compassionate, and
evidence-informed support. We believe recovery is not just about surviving a crisis—it is about rebuilding purpose, reconnecting with family and community, developing healthier relationships, and creating a life worth living.
Our work is built on respect, honesty, accountability, and hope. We meet people where they are, recognising that lasting change begins with trust and genuine human connection.
If you’re struggling, you’re not alone. If you’re supporting someone you care about, there is hope. Whether you’re facing addiction, domestic violence, suicidal thoughts, mental health challenges, or simply feeling lost, Ironbark exists because we’ve walked that road too—and we believe that recovery is possible.
From surviving to supporting others.
That is our story.
And we would be honoured to become part of yours.
